We all know the age old expression "April showers bring may flowers [and fun new socks]." Well, it's possible we made that last part up, but we still think it has a nice ring to it.But in all seriousness, today we're going to be reviewing our April shipment from Foot Cardigan's mens' sock of the month club. Let's get at it.
Foot Cardigan: PackagingMany of you have seen Foot Cardigan's packaging before, but for those of you who haven't your shipment will show up in a gray poly mailer bag. The Foot Cardigan slogan is the only text on the front and reads "Your Feet Are About to Get Awesomer!"
Foot Cardigan Gift Message: Packing InsertThe first thing we pulled out of the package was a white piece of printer paper folded into thirds. The paper is both their packaging slip, and their personalized message receptacle. That is, it is used to inform you of the order you are receiving as well as any messages someone may have left you if these socks were sent to you as a gift.
Foot Cardigan: Package, Socks, Packing Details, + Flower SeedsThe next thing we pulled out of the bag was another bag containing a pair of socks.
Foot Cardigan: Well NotedThis month's socks have two very classic patterns co-existing in a new layout. That is, the sock is comprised of both stripes and polka dots. The toe and the heel of the sock are both solid black. The top trim of the sock is something special (and is shown below).
Foot Cardigan: Well Noted DetailsThe stripes on the socks are two shades of blueish green and go from the top (minus the top trim) to just below the heel. The bottom of the sock, from just above the toe to where the blueish green stripes end are black with dense orange polkadots. This black and orange polkadot pattern is echoed at the top of the sock, above the stripes, but below the top trim.
Foot Cardigan: Well Noted Top Trim DetailsAnd now for our favorite part of the sock, the trop trim!If you haven't seen the name of these socks, they're called "Well Noted," perhaps because of the black and white piano key detailing at the top trim of the sock. We're not sure how this is relevant to the rest of the sock thematically, but we really like it!
Foot Cardigan: Wildflower Seeds Packaging—FrontThe last thing we pulled out of the package was a packet of wildflower seeds. The package reads "Spring showers bring Foot Cardigan flowers" in blue cursive. Below the text says "Because, you know, a sock company sending you wildflower seeds to gleefully spread all over the land makes total sense."
Foot Cardigan: Wildflower Seeds Packaging—BackThe pack of the wildflower seeds includes the coupon code FCLOVESYOU, which entitles you to 10% off all pay-once subscriptions. This pair of socks paired with a packet of wildflower seeds really shows us Foot Cardigan's bold irrelevance. Socks with stripes, polka dots, and piano keys are one of the most interesting sock pattern pairings we've yet to see.
