Today's the day we're reviewing a men's sock subscription from sock of the month club, The Sock Club. For those of you who are not as familiar with Sock Club, they were established in 2012 by two friends in Austin, Texas. Unlike many of the other sock of the month clubs we review, The Sock Club specifically focuses on men's sock subscriptions. (If you are looking for a women's sock of the month club, or a kid's sock of the month club, please check out some of the other sock of the month clubs we review here). Now that you know a little bit more about The Sock Club, let's tear into this packaging and see what this month's socks look like.

The Sock Club Review

Sock Club: Packaging (Front)The Sock Club packaging is a natural brown, stiff, rectangular, cardboard material with black doodles all over the front. It's quite cute, and there is no surprise about what will be inside of this package.

Sock Club: Packaging (Back)When you flip the cardboard package over, the back reveals some messaging about where the socks are made, the materials the socks are made out of, and how they are shipped all over the world. The Sock Club's opening line is "Open a Knitted Experience" right below their striped pull tab.

Sock Club: packaging, note on white printer paper, and interior sock packagingAfter pulling the pull tab across the package, we pulled out a white note on printer paper, and a pair of socks wrapped in butcher paper.

The Sock Club Review

Sock Club: note on white printer paperThe Sock Club usually uses this white paper to write a personal gift message from the sender of the socks (that is, if you receive these socks as a gift), and also to give a little information about the month's sock design inspiration. Additionally, they use this note to announce the name of the individual pair of socks you are receiving. However, for some reason, they address neither the name of the sock in this note, nor the inspiration behind the design. This month's note is more about them celebrating their 5 year anniversary as a company and reinforcing the information that they manufacture their socks in the United States—North Carolina specifically.

Sock Club: sock interior packagingNow that we've read The Sock Club's note, we can turn our attention to the socks wrapped in butcher paper with a red wax stamp on top (with "SC" pressed into the wax).

Sock Club: socks inside of interior packagingNot wanting to ruin the cool wax stamp, we always shake the socks out to the bottom of the wrapping.

The Sock Club Review

Sock Club: The Plato Sock (front)The Sock Club's sock of the month for men in July is a dark navy blue base with maroon accents (top, heel, and toe). On the body of the sock the only colors used are a bit of maroon, white, yellow, and red. The design is something that either draws inspiration from American quilting and stitching, Aztec print, or digital flowers... in our opinion.

The Sock Club Review

Sock Club: The Plato Sock (back)As far as summer colors go, these socks are quite dark. However, their quality is really nice. They are a sturdy, thick, and also quite soft.
